If the app closes mid-workout

How Fit+ keeps your workout safe when your phone locks, the app closes or you lose your connection, and how to pick up where you left off.

You won't lose your workout if you take a call, lock your phone or the app closes. Fit+ saves your progress on your phone as you go, and you can pick up right where you left off.

What Fit+ keeps safe

  • Every set, as soon as you tap Log set.
  • Where you are in the workout, and your rest timer.
  • The workout clock, every few seconds.

Your workout stays on your phone until you save it at the end.

If you lock your phone or switch apps

Your workout keeps running. The clock and rest timer carry on, and on iPhone you can follow them on the Lock Screen. When you come back to Fit+, you're exactly where you were, with the clock caught up.

If the app closes

Open Fit+ again.

On Home, tap Resume workout. You can also open Train, which goes straight back into your workout.

Carry on from your last logged set.

Any sets you logged on your Apple Watch while the phone app was closed are added too.

If you leave a workout running for more than 4 hours, Fit+ assumes you forgot about it. When you come back it's paused at the last moment it was saved, so your time doesn't include hours you didn't train.

Leave on purpose and come back later

Tap the pause button.

Tap Save & leave. Your workout is saved, paused, and you go to Home.

When you're ready, tap Resume workout on Home, or open Train, and tap Resume.

While a workout is waiting, every Start button takes you back to it instead of starting a new one. To start something else, finish or end the current workout first.

If you lose your connection

You can train without a connection. When you finish, tap No connection? Save on this device and sync later on the rating screen. Fit+ sends the workout the next time you open the app online. See Finish and rate a workout.
