Import and export your data

Bring your workout history from Strong, Hevy or another app, bring your food diary from MyFitnessPal, undo an import, and export your data as a spreadsheet or JSON file.

Switching to Fit+ doesn't mean starting from zero. Bring your past workouts, records, food diary and weigh-ins with you, and take a copy of your data whenever you want.

Import your history

You can import from:

FromWhat comes inWhere to get the file
StrongWorkoutsA CSV file from Strong's Settings, Export data
HevyWorkoutsA CSV file from Hevy's Profile, Export
MyFitnessPalFood diary and weightA CSV file exported from MyFitnessPal
Another appWorkoutsAny CSV file with date, exercise, weight and reps columns

Save the export file on your phone (for example in Files or your downloads) before you start.

Tap Me, the gear icon, then Security. Under Your data, tap Import your history.

You can also tap Import from another app on your empty workout history.

On Bring your history, tap the app you're coming from and choose the export file.

Check what Fit+ found: how many workouts, exercises, food entries or weigh-ins, and since when. Nothing is added yet.

If Fit+ asks, choose whether the weights in the file are in kg or lb.

Check how the exercises match. Under Not matched, tap an exercise to pick the Fit+ exercise it is, or tap Keep as my own exercise. Anything you don't match is added as your own exercise with its full history, and you can match it later.

Tap the import button, for example Import 120 workouts.

What happens next: Fit+ sends your history and shows how far it has got. When it's done, you see Your records and history are ready. Tap See my history (or See my food diary) to look through it. Your personal records include your imported workouts too.

Importing the same file again only adds what's new. Workouts already in Fit+ aren't added twice. Apple Health and Health Connect aren't imported here: they sync from Devices & apps. See Health and devices.

If some rows were skipped

Fit+ skips rows it can't use, for example a date it can't read, a date in the future, or a set with no weight or reps. The result lists each skipped row and why. Fix those rows in the file and import it again. Workouts already imported won't be duplicated.

If the import stops

If your connection drops part way, you see The import stopped. Nothing is lost. Tap Try again to carry on where it stopped.

Undo an import

Tap Me, the gear icon, Security, then Import your history.

Under Past imports, tap the import. You can also tap Undo this import right after an import finishes.

Tap Undo this import, then confirm.

The workouts, food and weigh-ins it added are removed and your records are worked out again. Custom exercises it created stay in your exercise list.

Export your data

Your data is yours. Take it to a spreadsheet, another app or your doctor.

Tap Me, the gear icon, Security, then Export data.

Under What to include, choose any of Workouts and sets, Food diary, Weight and measurements, Health imports (sleep, heart rate and steps) and Notes.

Choose a Format: CSV spreadsheet or JSON.

Choose a Date range: All time, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, This year or Choose dates.

Tap Export and share, then save the files or send them with any app on your phone.

  • CSV spreadsheet gives you one spreadsheet for each part you include. Weights are in kilograms and distances in kilometres, whatever units you use in the app.
  • JSON gives you one file with everything you include, for moving to another app.

Progress photos aren't part of the export.
