Using Fit+ without a connection
What still works when you're offline, how your workouts are kept safe, and how to pick up a workout that was interrupted.
Fit+ works best online, but your workouts are always safe. If you lose your connection in the gym, or your phone restarts mid-session, nothing you logged is lost.
How you know you're offline
When Fit+ can't reach the internet, a red banner at the top of the screen says "You're offline · showing saved data". Tap it to try again. On Home, you also see "Workouts you start offline sync automatically when you're back." with Retry connection.
What works offline
- Workouts. You can start, log and finish workouts. They're saved on your phone and sent to your account as soon as you're back online.
- What you've already opened. Screens you looked at earlier keep showing their information.
Anything else, such as sending a message, logging a meal or changing your settings, needs a connection. If you try while offline, Fit+ tells you to check your connection and try again, and nothing changes.
Finish a workout without a connection
At the end of your workout, rate the session as usual.
If you're offline, tap No connection? Save on this device and sync later. You need at least one logged set.
Your summary appears as normal. The workout is saved on your phone.
When you're back online, Fit+ sends it to your account by itself. You don't need to do anything.
What happens next: once your workout has synced, it appears in your history, and your coach can see and review it (if you share your workouts with them).
If saving fails when you tap Mark as complete, your workout stays open. Try again, or save it on your phone and let it sync later.
Pick up an interrupted workout
Every set you log is saved on your phone as you go. If Fit+ closes, your phone restarts or the battery runs out mid-workout:
Open Fit+ again.
On Home, tap Resume workout.
Carry on from where you stopped. Your sets, weights and notes are all there.
You can't start a different workout until you finish or end the one in progress. If you log out, the unfinished workout is kept for you and comes back when you sign in again.
If you use an Apple Watch, anything you did on the watch while the phone app was closed is added once the workout is back on your phone. See Apple Watch.
Common questions
Open Train and check your workout history. Once it's there, it's in your account. Fit+ tries to sync every time you open the app, sign in or come back to it.
Nothing is lost. Connect to the internet and open Fit+ again, and it will send them.
No. Workouts saved on your phone belong to your account and are only sent when you're signed in.
While you're offline, Fit+ shows what it last loaded. When you're back online, pull to refresh or tap the offline banner.
