Follow a client's progress

See every workout a client logged, their progress charts and the weekly reports they share with you, and for nutritionists, their weight trend and nutrients.

A client's profile shows more than their plan. Coaches see every workout the client logged, how their training adds up week by week and the weekly reports they choose to send you. Nutritionists see the client's weight trend and the nutrients behind their meals.

Everything on this page shows only as far as the client shares it with you. See What your clients share with you.

Before you start

  • Coaches: the client needs to share workouts with you.
  • Nutritionists: the client needs to share nutrition with you for nutrients, and measurements for their weight trend.

If a client doesn't share something, its card says so, for example "Sam doesn't share training with you", with an Ask [name] to share button. Once you have asked, the card says it appears as soon as they allow it in Data sharing.

Open a client's training

Select Clients in the sidebar and open the client.

Select the Training tab.

You see, from top to bottom:

  • Current program: this week's days, the last session and adherence.
  • Training history: every workout the client logged.
  • Weekly report: what the client shared from their weekly report.
  • Progress: charts worked out from the sets they logged.
  • Program progress: a link to the progress page of the program you wrote. See Assign and follow a program.

Weights and lifted volume show in the client's own units, kilograms or pounds, just as they see them in the Fit+ app.

Training history

Training history lists the client's workouts by week (This week, Last week, then Week of a date), with how much they lifted each week. Each workout shows its day, length, volume and number of sets, and these markers:

  • PR when the client set a personal record.
  • Edited when the client changed the workout after finishing it. Hover over it to see when.
  • A speech bubble when the workout has notes.
  • Where the workout came from: Your plan, Own routine (a routine the client made themselves), another professional's plan, or Free workout.

The note at the top counts the last four weeks by source. Your plan's targets and progression only apply to sessions from your plan. On their own routines, the client's own settings apply.

The list shows the last eight weeks. Select Show all [count] workouts to see everything, and Show recent only to go back.

Open a past workout

Select a workout in Training history to see it in full. Select Back to [name] to return to the profile.

  • At the top: Time, the volume, the number of Sets and of records (PR). A workout from your plan also shows which program and week it came from. If the client rated the session, you see its effort too.
  • If the client edited the workout, a banner says when. Volume and records show the edited sets.
  • [name]'s notes: what the client wrote about the session.
  • Each exercise shows what you planned, for example "Planned 3 × 8 at 60 kg", or Not in your plan if the client added it. Its sets show the load and reps and how hard it felt: Easy, Good, Hard or Max. Warm-up sets are marked W, and sets show Edited or PR where that applies.
  • Note for next time shows what the client wants to remember for the next session.
  • In your plan, not logged lists exercises from your plan that the client skipped.

Progress charts

Progress is worked out from the sets the client logged. Warm-up sets don't count.

  • Muscle volume: working sets per muscle group over the Last 7 days or Last 4 weeks. The outlined box is the weekly range most people grow from, and groups outside it are marked low or high. Your plan still decides what the client should do.
  • Weekly volume: how much they lifted each week over 4 weeks, 3 months or 1 year, compared with their average week. Select Figures as a table to read the numbers.
  • Workouts per week: workouts each week, against the goal in your plan.
  • Estimated 1-rep max: for their main lifts, worked out from their best set of up to 12 reps (never a tested max), with the change over 4 weeks.

Weekly reports your client shares

Clients can send you their weekly report from the Fit+ app. Weekly report shows the latest one:

  • The week and when they shared it.
  • Workouts (for example 3 of 4), the volume they lifted compared with usual, New records and, if they share measurements with you, their weight trend.
  • Highlights: their records, and their protein and sleep, but only if they already share nutrition or sleep with you.
  • This week: muscle groups that were below the growth range.
  • [name]'s note: a note the client added for you when they shared the report.

Open Earlier reports to see the weeks before.

A report only appears when the client chooses to share it with you. Sharing workouts with you doesn't send their reports on its own.

Weight trend and nutrients (nutritionists)

On the client's Nutrition tab, nutritionists see a Weekly check-in card (see Approve nutrition check-ins), then:

  • Weight trend: daily weigh-ins and an orange trend line that smooths out day-to-day changes from water and food. Pick 1M, 3M, 6M or 1Y. You see the current Trend, how fast it is changing each week and the last weigh-ins, in the client's own units. It needs the client to share measurements with you.
  • Nutrients: the daily average of fibre, sodium, sugar and saturated fat over the last 7 days, from the foods the client logged. Each one is compared with Your target from your plan or, if you didn't set one, a General guide, and marked over or short.

Nutrient figures are only as good as the foods logged, and many foods carry no fibre or sodium figures.

Below these you still see the client's Recent meals and Open food diary. See Read a client's food diary.

What you never see

  • Progress photos. They are private to the client, even when they share everything else with you.
  • Body measurements other than weight, such as waist or arm size.
  • Anything the client doesn't share with you, including sleep and recovery.
